Hello everyone...I just wanted to say a quick "hi" and tell you a little bit about myself. I graduated from Penn State University, and this will be my 11th year of teaching (the past 7 have been here at Mossman!). Those are my two kids...Sydney and Zachary. Sydney is starting her junior year at Tarleton University, and Zachary is a Freshman at The University of Louisiana at Lafayette...Geaux Cajuns!. This year I'll be teaching math, science, and social studies. I also coach seventh grade football and basketball at Bayside Intermediate. I can't wait to meet everyone and I'm looking forward to a fantastic year... See ya soon!
My name is Mrs. Jerla and I am one of the 3rd grade ELA teachers. I have lived in Texas for almost 10 years after moving from the Northeast. This is my 12th year in education- I taught for 2 years in Louisiana then worked in Pasadena ISD as a teacher and librarian for 9 years before coming to CCISD. I received my Undergraduate degree in Health Administration from the University of Maryland, a Masters degree in Teaching from McNeese State University and a Masters of Library Sciences from University of Houston Clear Lake. I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have 2 children - Ethan (8) and Emerson (4). I'm very excited to be teaching your kiddos and looking forward to a great year!
